Free for 5 users — what's in the box
The Free tier is the whole product, not a watered-down trial: every AI agent, every task feature, every CRM table.
Most SaaS Free tiers are a marketing funnel — a watered-down version of the product that exists to push you onto a paid plan within 14 days. We've built ours differently.
On alifTeams Free, you get the whole product. Every feature from the paid tiers. The only differences are size limits and a few AI-cost-driven caps.
What's included
- Chat — channels, DMs, threads, reactions, file uploads, scheduled messages. Same code as paid.
- Tasks — full task tracker with priorities, types, assignees, due dates, sub-tasks, and conversion from any message. Capped at 50 active tasks.
- Customers + Contacts + Deals + Calendar — the whole built-in CRM. Capped at 25 customers, 50 contacts, 50 calendar events.
- AI agents — @assistant, @summarizer, @task, @meeting-notes. Capped at ~10 agent calls per user per day; resets every UTC midnight.
- Huddles — 1-on-1 audio/video calls, 10 min max, up to 5 per user per month. Self-hosted LiveKit; no third party.
- Search — full-text across 30 days of history.
What's not
- More than 5 active members. Try to invite a 6th and the invite is blocked with an upgrade prompt.
- More than 5,000 messages in the workspace. Hit the cap and posting is paused — existing messages aren't deleted, search keeps working.
- Screen sharing in huddles (Starter+).
- Group huddles, recording, frontier LLMs, custom agents.
Why we can afford this
Workspaces under 5 users sit comfortably inside the fixed cost we're already paying for Postgres, Redis, LiveKit, and S3 — adding another small team has near-zero marginal cost. The LLM bill is the only thing that scales, and the daily cap keeps it bounded.
We'd rather you actually evaluate the product than half-evaluate a trial. Most teams that stay below 5 users stay free forever, and a chunk of them eventually upgrade as they grow. That's a fair trade.
